Save the Lake Districts forests rally @ Grizedale Forest Sunday 30th Jan 1pm

Starting from the main car park rally held on the meadow.

Plans have been announced for a rally against Government plans to sell public forests in the Lake District. The rally will take place on the meadow next to the main car park at Grizedale Forest at 1pm on Sunday 30th January.

Photography Workshop with Val Corbett Oct 22nd

Via Ullswater Steamers - This is your chance to get to grips with your camera with one of the best.  There will be instruction throughout the day on how to compose beautiful photos as well as short excursions into different habitats around the lake. Please bring suitable clothing. Locally produced Packed Lunches available to pre order, details to follow.

Departs from Glenridding at 11am returns approx 6pm - Price £25 per person.

Tourism in the Lake District in 2009

Figures show that in 2009  the Lake District welcomed approx 8.3 million day visitors throughout the year to walk and climb the Cumbrian Fells and Mountain ranges and enjoy its lakes. Of these millions of tourists nearly 90% come by car.

 

The Ullswater Outdoor Festival

The Ullswater Outdoor Festival from 25th September to 3rd October. Events include free guided walks, Wild Swimming, Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Navigation and Map reading workshops and much more. in Supporting of the Festival this year the Ullswater Steamers will only charge £1 per trip for any Festival Event.
