Crummock Water

Crummock Water in the Lake District is an average sized lake within the boundaries of the English Lake District. Crummock Water is two and a half miles long and three quarters of a mile wide.

Crummock Water is situated between Buttermere to the south and Loweswater to the north. Crummock Water is two and a half miles long, three quarters of a mile wide. Crummock Water is owned by the National Trust and, due to its less accessible location, it remains a quiet, peaceful spot.

Crummock Water visitors usually come here to walk the surrounding fells, which include, on the western shore, the impressive Red Pike Fell 2,476 ft high. Red Pike Fell in the High Stile range in the western English Lake District, which separates Ennerdale from the valley of Buttermere and Crummock Water.

Scale Force is the highest waterfall in the Lake District feeds the lake and has a drop of 170ft. The waterfall - or Force (Force is a Cumbrian term for waterfall) lies south of Crummock Water and is near the village of Buttermere.
